APPROACH /
My approach is crafted for couples who value artistry, mood and a distinctive vision. The planning process is important to me. It allows me to really get to know my clients and build a genuine connection with them prior to the big day. From scouting locations to orchestrating the day’s flow, I ensure every moment feels effortless - not staged, but naturally elevated. On the wedding day, I create space for spontaneity and connection, capturing both the energy and the intimacy that make your story uniquely yours.
STYLE /
I’m Ash Dingess, an editorial wedding photographer based in Charleston, South Carolina, specializing in fashion-forward, high-styled luxury weddings. With over 15 years in New York City’s fashion industry, my editorial approach blends fine art, graphic composition, and cinematic romance - capturing weddings for adventurous, design-driven couples. Rooted in fashion, design, and minimalism, I create images that feel sensuous, artfully composed, and effortlessly elegant. I photograph weddings in Charleston, New York City, the East Coast and worldwide.
CAREER /
My photography journey began at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, where I was honored with a one-time full scholarship awarded by John Denver. After graduation, I immersed myself in the fashion world in South Beach, Miami — assisting renowned photographers and managing the largest prop house, where cinema and design shaped my creative vision. Moving to New York City, I refined my craft on commercial projects, collaborating with visionary creatives and industry leaders. It was through weddings that I discovered the perfect intersection of artistry and emotion — the exhilaration of a fast-paced day paired with intimate, love-filled moments. Today, I bring this experience to every wedding, merging a cinematic, high-styled perspective with an editorial approach to create images that are luxurious, unforgettable, and designed to let couples feel completely at ease on their special day.
Charleston’s historic beauty and soft Southern light make it one of my favorite places to photograph weddings. After building my career in New York City, I’ve fallen in love with capturing intimate, emotional celebrations at venues like Lowndes Grove, Legare Waring House, Middleton Place, Boone Hall, and The William Aiken House. These Charleston wedding venues feel rich with history and romance, offering garden paths, grand interiors, and a refined, high-end aesthetic.
If you’re planning a wedding in Charleston, New York, or abroad and value imagery that feels refined yet effortless, I’d love to connect.
